Sex therapy offers help for people with sexual problems. Its also referred to as psychosexual therapy.
Sex therapists are trained counsellors, who have received additional training in the physical and psychological issues associated with sexual functioning. Its been around for forty years, and is a service that is regularly referred to by counsellors, GPs and other medical professionals.
Our early experiences and beliefs form how we feel about sex and sexuality as adults. In addition we take on views from society and media, about what is good and bad in terms of sexual expression. These conflicting influences can lead to shame, confusion and dysfunction.
Sex therapy can help explore what gets in the way of enjoying sex fully, and provide an opportunity to discuss your feelings about sex and sexuality. By using appropriate psychological interventions, I treat the cause and the symptoms by exploring why a sexual problem has arisen.
I have extensive experience of working with clients that identify with Sex/Love/Pornography Addictions
